Be the resource they need.
The Rheumatology Nurses Society is a professional organization committed to the development and education of nurses to benefit its members, patients, family and community.
Our vision is to lead nurses to excellence in the care of patients with rheumatologic diseases.
We represent nurses who are engaged in clinical practice, education and research for the care of patients with rheumatic diseases. Through the efforts of our society, the American Nurses Association (ANA) recognized rheumatology nursing in 2012 as a nursing specialty.
Rheumatology nursing provides the opportunity to care for patients with complex medical conditions utilizing keen assessment skills, critical thinking pathways, and multidisciplinary approach. Rheumatology nurses develop relationships with patients and families, excel at patient education, enjoy research opportunities, and are excited by decision-making challenges.
Through the Heroes of Caring campaign, we want to bring awareness to the growing field of rheumatology nursing and the dedicated professionals devoted to treating rheumatologic diseases. By amplifying the stories of real rheumatology nurses across the country, we hope to inspire nurses to explore all the career possibilities rheumatology nursing has to offer and enhance the RNS community.
